Mandarin ended up being one of those places where the whole experience felt easier before we even sat down, if that makes sense. It’s in a really convenient spot for us, especially after work, and the parking situation was simple too, which I didn’t realize I’d appreciate so much until we weren’t circling around forever. No weird entrance, no guessing where to go, just park and walk in. The food was good, but i’d probably go back just because getting there was so low-stress.

The food was fine, nothing really wrong there, but the whole “special occasion” part felt kind of all over the place. We still had to wait a while to be seated even with a reservation, and nobody seemed to know it was for a birthday. Like, come on now, that was the whole reason we were there.
They did bring out a small birthday thing near the end, which I appreciated, but it felt rushed and more like an afterthought. It wasn’t a terrible night or anything, I just expected it to feel a little more thoughtful for a birthday dinner.
